How our story began in Cambodia
In April 2011 I set aside time with three friends to pray. We were all gathered in a house in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The first night I woke up at 4 in the morning, but I decided to sleep again. On the second night, I woke up again at the same time and decided to get up to talk to God. There was a world map in the room. As I climbed the stairs into the living room, I reasoned in my thoughts about why I had awakened two nights at the same time.
When I got to the living room, that wonderful, direct, sweet voice began to speak to me. One of its directions was, “I want you to go to Cambodia because I have children to be rescued there.” I was deeply grateful for the privilege of being led by the Spirit once more, for receiving another orientation to help children, after Haiti and Mozambique. I approached the map to find Cambodia and set my heart to obey God promptly. That year we were already living a beautiful story with the children of Haiti.
In the year 2012, I went to Cambodia and was taken by a deep love of God for the children. Christ poured out his compassion for me to reach Cambodia. According to official data from the United States, Cambodia is the source, transit, and destination of men, women, and children, subject to forced to work and sexual exploitation.
Our dream is to bring Christ to Cambodia. Because of Him, we will return on November 15. We will be in the south of the country assisting children, assisting the Cambodian church, deepening partnerships, and our future actions in the country.
