This smiling boy in the photo is Ângelo Arthur. He has been part of Nations Help’s sponsorship program in Porto da Folha, Sergipe, since its launch in December 2022.
As a child diagnosed with autism, Ângelo was nonverbal and was already receiving psychological care through the public health system (SUS), but he also needed speech therapy.
Thanks to a dedicated campaign, and the generosity of donors, we were able to raise the necessary funds for speech therapy. Today, Arthur—now four and a half years old—has regained his ability to speak and is attending preschool!
He also received a full set of school supplies through Nations Help and is overjoyed to be socializing and seeing his life transformed.
Ângelo’s parents are deeply grateful for the project and regularly share photos of his progress with Marileide Menezes, the local coordinator leading the outreach in the semi-arid region.
