“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.” (Matthew 5:6)
Cité Soleil
Cité Soleil is the poorest place in Port-au-Prince, in the poorest country in the Americas, Haiti. The vast majority of children in this area do not have access to safe drinking water, decent food, clothing, basic sanitation, and health. Education is still a huge challenge. The struggle for a child to survive in this region is extremely challenging.
How were the children assisted?
By the sole grace of God, we have deployed relief fronts in a Cité Soleil district, Waff-Jeremie, led by the missionary Marileide Menezes. 162 children, from January to March 2018, were assisted in the food, education, and health programs. We have indeed seen significant improvements in the lives of children. Children are healthier and have improved their school performance. The focus for 2018 will be the improvement of discipleship and we are working hard for the development of teaching materials.
The reality in our hearts
We still have significant challenges in helping children in this area, but we believe that the acts of justice and the Word of God will transform the future of the new generation in this place. Despite so many daily challenges, a reality of satisfaction has flooded our heart, realizing the development and improvement in children’s lives, fulfilling within us the word:
“Many were ill and suffering a lot. They received medical treatment, took tests, and bought medicines, things that the family would never be able to do. Seeing the happy and healthy faces make our heart happy. A life could have been harvested without the timely assistance of the Nations Help.”
