A love attitude of a child that marked my life
Jean Jerry is a shy child, but has a keen eye. Despite being abandoned by his parents, he manifests in his attitudes the love of God. He has been in the Nations Help Project since July 2017 and, thanks to the sponsorship program, he can now have a daily meal, which was impossible before for his adoptive family. He is also studying with scholarship paid by the sponsorship program of Nations Help since here in Haiti there are practically no public schools. The ones that can not afford have to stay out of school.
Demonstrating love
I traveled to Brazil in March 2018 and when I got there I discovered a benign nodule on my right breast that had to be removed through minor surgery. Jean Jerry’s adoptive sister always talked to me, via WhatsApp. She told him that I had surgery in Brazil. He asked her to put credit on her cell phone because he wanted to talk to me. Imagine how difficult it was to get this in the poorest country in the Americas! She was able to put credit on her cell phone; however, the internet here in Haiti is very precarious and she was unable to complete the call. So he said he wanted to record an audio for me. And so he did. When I heard that little voice on the phone saying my name and wondering how I was, my heart was filled with joy and I understood why Jesus said in the Gospel of Mark, 10:15 “Truly I tell you, anyone, who will not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it.” Jean Jerry is proof of this statement of Jesus. He demonstrated his love through an attitude and went to great lengths to know my health situation because he cares about people. It was an attitude that marked my life forever. Gestures of children like this one make me believe that the Kingdom of God in Haiti will be expanded through the children, the generation that will grow with the values of Christ nailed to their hearts.
Upon returning to Haiti, I made sure to give him a hug and telling him how important his zeal was to me. An attitude of love makes a lot of difference in our lives.
Fruit
Make a difference in the lives of children here in Haiti, as Jean Jerry made in my life. This is priceless and eternal.
Thank God for the little ones that the Lord has placed me to care for and teach them the life of Your beloved son Jesus.
