I was born on October 23, 2012

Hello! My name is Maken Bazil. I live in the town of Waff Jeremié (Cité Soleil), one of Haiti’s largest and most dangerous favela complexes. My father passed away when I was still a baby and I live with my mother, who sells offal on the street to help support the house. Despite being very shy and hardly speak, I really like to study and my favorite subject is French. My mother and I entered the relief program for food, school aid, and income generation with craft workshops where my mother will participate in order to provide income for my family.
