Hello! My name is Islande and I was discovered at another orphanage not long after the devastating earthquake in 2010. When I was found, I was downcast and seemed to be suffering from depression, even though I was two and a half years old. I was also terribly malnourished. How it all changed when I was brought to the House of New Life! Although it took a little time for me to get used to it, I was “smothered” with love and care of the team and finally one day I started to smile. I’m happy to go to school (I really like grammar) and have a lot of fun playing hide and seek with the other kids. Dancing makes me very happy and one day I would like to be a teacher, to help others like New Life who have helped me in partnership with Nations Help.
